Beach [updated]

August 1, 2008

Well we had our first 637 at the beach and hopefully people had a good time.

Some updates: we will be just north of the tall lifeguard tower. Also if you park in the houses (cays) give yourself about 15 mintues walking time.

See you next week.

We will be having 637 at Silver Strand state beach for the rest of the summer. Come early or come on time and enjoy the great outdoors.

Parking is $8 but there is free parking across the street. Feel free to make a friend and carpool as well.

See you there for the first beach session on July 27th.

Sunday 3/9

March 10, 2008

Last night 6/37 took on a little different form, digging into a passage of the bible.

“Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”

6When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

8When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” 9For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, 10and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners.

Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will catch men.” 11So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.”

Something for Someone else…

December 14, 2007

I just wanted to let everyone know how many appreciative comments I’ve received from the recipients of our 637 Christmas Caroling outing last Sunday. Many of the seniors we visited expressed that they had never had carolers come to their house before. Some were even teary-eyed. Sometimes we don’t realize how such a small gesture of love can mean so much to someone. Let’s keep doing things like this – things that make a difference. In January, after the Christmas love has faded, we plan on going to do something for someone else. Keep checking here for more details.

Rockin out to Rock Band

Looking For Some Music?

December 4, 2007

Check out the band Northern Room for some good rock music. The band is slightly similar to Mute Math and if you don’t know who Mute Math is, check them out too.
